You likely recall the long time recommendation to take a "baby aspirin",

In 2008, when I had my near death anemia / cancer health crisis, it was
determined
that my taking the daily "baby" was a significant contributor to the
internal bleeding.
The recommendation was that I stop the "baby" and begin the more
expensive Plavix.

On Monday, March 22, 2010, I began having the nearly identical black,
tarry, wood
smoke smelling, bloody diarhia, which quickly sapped my strength. Had it
not been
for a food deliverer who called 911, I don't know what I could have done
to summon

I needed to stop
it and go back on the "baby". When I noted the inanity to the medical
staff, the
response was that this was all that they had to recommend.
