MedicalConspiracies- Olive Leslie one of our members has past away
Marjorie Olive Leslie With sad hearts and wonderful memories we announce the peaceful passing of our wife, mom, and grandma on Wednesday, December 29th, 2010 in her eighty-first year. Marj will be lovingly remembered by her husband Alan of 61 years, daughter Lynn (Darryl) White, sons Murray, Luke, Doug (Charlene) Robbie, Cam (Cindy), grandchildren Jeff, Dale (Jill), Karly (Nolan), Jay, Mike, Derek, Mandy, Cheri (Stephen), Danny, Chloe, Max, great-grandchildren Ryatt, Emree, Brandon, Kade, Nick, Michaela, Tara Lynn, Ellie and Avery. Marj is also survived by her sister-in-law Val Grant of Rainy River and numerous nieces and nephews. Marj was born May 1, 1929 in Melita, Manitoba. Her parents Murray and Olive Rollins moved to Reaburn where she grew up with her three brothers and one sister who have all predeceased her. Mom was always active in events in Poplar Point. She enjoyed her time at the rink, ball tournaments, hockey games, figure skating and things her children and grandchildren were involved in. Mom was happiest when she was getting a big meal together, whether for Christmas, Thanksgiving at the cabin or just a Sunday afternoon at home. Meals always included her own canning, be it pickled beets, the relish recipe or chili sauce and of course cake with extra icing. She enjoyed making sure we were all full and satisfied. Mom spent hours in her garden and yard. Both her and Dad loved being outside sitting in their chairs feeding the chipmunks and chatting with whoever stopped by. Mom loved to knit and sew. Many babies have been wrapped warm and cozy in one of her blankets or slept in her flannel PJ's. Lots of people wear Marj's mitts. Her grandchildren have special memories of time spent in the Point with both Mom and Dad, be it at the pool, crafting, painting ceramics, sleepovers or lake time. She made each of them believe they were her "favorite." Her great-grandchildren had the run of the "toy bag" and the "candy dish." Grandma Ice Cream set the rules at her house. Everyone knows Mom spoke her mind. You knew where you stood with her right from the get-go. This never prevented any kid in town from enjoying countless hours of swimming, sock-hockey tournaments, sleepovers and family fun. She loved it all. Marj was always pleased when someone stopped her (usually in Walmart) to say hi and reconnect. Moving to Rotary in October seemed to fit with Mom and Dad. She was content there knowing she could go back to the Point whenever she would choose. Marj went to work at Campbell Soup from 1972 to 1989. She enjoyed retirement with family and friends. At her request no service will be held; cremation has taken place. There will be a private family interment to follow. If friends so wish, donations in Marj's memory may be made to the Poplar Point Cemetery, Box 172, Poplar Point, Manitoba, R0H 0Z0 or to a charity of one's choice. Condolences may be sent to the family c/o Omega Funeral Home, 83 Royal Road South, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, R1N 1T8, 1-800-303-4621 or friends may leave a message of sympathy on our web site www.omegafuneralhome.com "Dedicated to those we serve".97
